While
Amira went on a special birthday trip with my dad, we did some fun things with the other kids. Here we are at the Ogden Dinosaur Park.
Braden and Morgan took swimming lessons this summer, and have gotten very good.
We try to go swimming twice a week. Every time these kids put their goggles on it just cracks me up. We had to buy a special pair of goggles for Alex so he can do his famous "hippo run" with the kids. Because he sinks to the bottom he can run on his hands and tiptoes like a hippo. The kids take turns standing on his back while he runs. Good times!
We bought a trampoline this summer. The kids have spent many nights out there jumping. Sometimes they put the sprinkler on underneath. I call Alex at work all the time and tell him how happy I am we got it. They love it! Thanks to Uncle Ben for helping with the assembly.
After
Amira helped Alex and members of the ward rip up a lot of ugly grass, Braden helped him spread 10 tons of crushed rock to go in its place. Both
Amira and Braden were quite the workers. I didn't get any pictures of
Amira, but here is Braden. Logan and Morgan you ask.... Mo wanted to help, but she's too little. Logan kept reminding Alex that soil takes thousands of years to be made, and it shouldn't be wasted because it's so special. The constant jabbering and his "work ethic" led Alex to allow Logan to help with the project from inside the house.
The kids are getting older, and all grew facial hair. Isn't it fun to have an older sister with makeup.
Logan performed very well at the most recent piano recital. He won the award for Most Challenging Piece. We were very proud of his efforts.
Father's Day was a lot of fun.
Amira turned 13. This is the second
iPod Alex has bought for
Amira. If she loses this one, can she come live with any of you? She has been in a Michael Jackson craze ever since... moment of silence please... his passing. It was fueled by our neighbor giving her copies of every Jackson album ever made! Thanks Frank! She's definitely 13, but has been so nice to all of the kids (including many that are not our own). Really very sweet.
